Prelude

The mines of the Western Mountains are rich in ores and rare gemstones. For every mine that goes dry, another vein is discovered, meaning new mines are springing up all the time. The dwarven peoples, in particular, dedicate their lives to delving into the mountains to provide the resources the world requires.

But mining is one thing. Running a business is another. In the last few months, Carin Rockfoot's mining company has discovered a rich vein of ore. But while her luck was the talk of the mountains for weeks, recently, the gossip has been that her operation is in trouble. You're in the area and decide to go that way to investigate.

I thought running my own company would be easy. But I can’t get my head around all this paperwork. I’m trying to make sure everyone gets paid on time, but I can’t figure out a system that works. If I don’t figure it out soon, I’m going to have a mutiny on my hands!!
