Prelude

Reporting to the Order's training grounds, you feel a mixture of excitement and trepidation. Dreaming of joining the Order of the Node Guardians is one thing. Stepping out to begin your first day of training is quite another.

Taking a deep breath, you take in the smell of hot sweat and cold steel. All around you, initiates are already working hard, filling the air with the crashing of swords and the hissing of imperfectly formed spells.

You turn around to see a scrawny figure lugging a large rucksack. He holds out his hand in greeting.

Ah, you must be the other new guy! Glad to see I'm not the only fresh blood here today. Let's keep each other close. Maybe we can help each other out! I’m sure the two of us will have no problem if we help each other out.
